CRUISE COLLECTION 2011: [ SUPREMATISM ]

CAPSULE I [BIRTH]

I AM JASON

I am nothing usual, but unusual, for i had never been usually usual, more usually unusual.

Came from the dusts of Cloak and Daggers, am made of fragments in my masters’ subconscious minds.

Though unconsciously i was made , conscious i am of the world’s stereotypes.

I’ll create later, i’ll destroy first.

Let’s break down all boundaries and conventional images. Change. Evolve. Let not our inner voice be drowned. Just be ourselves.

JASON will be replacing Cloak&Dagger as Hide&Seek’s official menswear label in Mid-June 2011.

STAR AWARDS 2010 我来“奖”!!!

Published May 3, 2010 in Bespoke, Fashion, Keith Png, Koops, Media Feature, What's New |

The long anticipated annual Star Awards is finally over!!!:)

As usual, there will always be a lot of buzz after Star Awards!

“WWW” will always be the talk of the town after the event, what does “WWW” means, it means: Who’s Wearing What!

The funny thing is, out of a sudden, everyone who has watched the awards ceremony will start to become fashion critic.

Like I have mentioned in my interview before <> You don’t have to take it seriously. Lighten up and have fun! :p

Singapore’s entertainment scene, sadly, is already very small and we do not have the luxury to host a lot of entertainment related ” Ceremonies” or Awards… therefore Star Awards seems to be the only platform for the local Celebs to dress up and shine! :)

Just imagine, When an Artiste or a Celeb walk on the red carpet, it really takes a lot of people and effort to put the look together, from the hair, make up, nails, outfit, accessories, bags, shoes etc. 没有功劳, 也有苦劳吧! so Fashion Critics out there, pls try to be lenient with your comments hahahahha:)

Anyway, I am really happy to dress some of the celebs that I have never really got a chance to work with for Star Awards. Thanks to Annie Chua of Medicorp wardrobe, I was asked to design for Kym Ng and Cynthia Koh. It was also my first time working with Rebecca Lim for her Star Awards look.

Let me present to you the looks that I have specially created for them:

Kym Ng: Kym always look good with very short dresses therefore I gave her a cute pouffy dress to bring out her small and petite frame… The Silk Organza ruffles on the bust area gave her a more 3D look (i’m not a fan of beads lol). A black thick sash belt attached on the waist gave her a hourglass look. Finally, the voluminous bottom adds life and make the whole look more pretty and cheery:)

Kym was voted one of the “best looks on female starlets from Caldecott Hill’s Star Awards Show 1″ selected by Xinmsn http://lifestyle.xin.msn.com/en/beauty-fashion/photos.aspx?cp-documentid=4042775&page=10

Cynthia Koh: As far as I can remember, I have never worked with Cynthia before, infact, i knew her sister before i knew her personally. When Annie approached me to design a dress for her, I was not sure how i should dress her.. it took me some time to decide if i want to make her a very “safe” and pretty dress or to make her look completely different!

In the end, I decided not to be “safe” and explore the rock chic look for her… she is an independent girl, with a mind of her own and definitely HAWT!!! so let’s flaunt that!!!

I gave her my very own interpretation of “LBD” black mini toga with a single long sleeve and black studs embellishments. Updated and Hawt!!!

Rebecca lim: This young and hardworking tall girl has a very very pretty face, and all she needs is a dress to bring out her youth!

A long gown or a skin tight silhouette would probably piled up her age…. for that reason, i gave her a very short tutu ballerina dress… to “modernize” it, shoulder pad was added and i had gold studs sewn on the neckline that drape to the back…

All 3 girls told me that they love the dresses that i made for them… i hope you guys like it too, despite that, Fashion & Beauty are so subjective, don’t you agree???? :-)

My Favorites for the Star Awards II 2010 are (not in any order):

Joanne Peh

Felicia Chin

Yvonne Lim

Rui en

Ann Koh

Jeanette Aw

Xiaxue’s ROM dress by Keith Png

Published April 2, 2010 in Bespoke, Fashion, Keith Png, Media Feature, What's New |

When Xiaxue approached me to design her ROM dress, i was extremely excited!!!

Xiaxue, aka Wendy Cheng or Mrs Sayre , the most influential Singapore Blogger (not just in my opinion), if you want to know why she is so influential, go read her blog http://www.xiaxue.blogspot.com/

It was a great honour to be designing her ROM dress. She is simple, genuine and down to earth! A lot of people has misunderstood or mis-judge this young girl. . .

I was a bit worried initially, as i thought she will be asking me to make her a Over-The-Top Dress with lots and lots and lots of BLINGS!!! which is really not my style…:)

However after the first consultation, She told me she wanted a poufy short dress, and that she will leave the design to me. Oh btw, she is super petite !!!

And so, after the first round of sketches, she told me that the ROM theme is going to be “Italian Mafia” … i went on to design a Marilyn Monroe inspired Ivory Silk Halter poufy dress.

I am very happy with the results, Wendy was so hands-on, she made her own hat, bought gloves and did her own make-up to really bring out the look.

I like to wish her and Mike all the best in their marriage and thank you for the invitation. :)

OH, by the way, Great food, service, ambience at Forlino, Nice wedding pics taken by Douglas of Avenue 8 and of cos, great wedding planning from Eternally Yours.
